Have you ever walked a big city early in the morning? Soon after the sun rises sleepy cities all over the world slowly awaken and come to life.

Streets, sidewalks and benches are hosed down. Waiters and waitresses set up outdoor tables draped with clean, white linen. Ferries gently bob up and down beside their docks preparing for a busy day; a thin mist rising from the harbor. Seagulls sit quietly on the railing beside the water preening their feathers and watching the increasing activity. The smell of fresh bagels and muffins floats above the cool air at a small kiosk. Early bird business workers with their briefcases and newspapers line up for their first cup of strong, rich coffee. A florist places beautiful fresh flowers in containers on the wet concrete. $15 a bunch - a dazzling rainbow of colors against the gray of the sidewalk and buildings.

Wherever you are in the world, each day can be a magical time of new awakening. Each morning bringing a fresh start and its own kind of beauty if we stop long enough to savor it. Enjoy early mornings. They're a wonderful gift and the foundation upon which we create a terrific day.

Peace to all
