I learned about Dr. Lorraine Day and her story through a gentleman I worked with who was himself learning to live and cope with cancer. He had come across Dr. Day's success in healing through his own search for wholeness and health. Dr. Day is a remarkable
doctor who dealt with a unique kind of breast cancer (a tumor developed between her two breasts). She tried cutting her practice down to half-time in her efforts to heal, but she discovered that she had to completely stop her practice of medicine in order to actually heal from her cancer.
On her video "You Can't Improve On God!" she spends the last half an hour of the show explaining why most people recovering from cancer wouldn't want to subject themselves to the ravages of radiation or chemotherapy treatments.
The following are a list of principles she has come up with in her success in claiming health and balance back in her body. They are a "back to the basics" approach, and they worked for her.
1. Proper Nutrition Diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, and grains. NO animal fat and NO processed foods.
2. Exercise -- 4 hours per week.
3. Drink plenty of water. The body uses 10 cups of water a day. Drink at least 8 cups of water a day.
4. Sunlight boosts the immune system! Get as much as you can, though perhaps best to avoid the hottest hours of the day (10 AM to 2 PM).
5. Temperance. No tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, drugs, including prescription drugs..jpg)
6. Plenty of fresh air.
7. Proper rest at proper time. At least eight hours, beginning around 9:30 PM (when healing hormones start producing).
8. Stress relief -- faith/trust in God. "Don't worry; be happy (be in joy)!"
9. Attitude of gratitude.
10. Spirit of benevolence. Even when we are sick, we can pray for others, and for the world.
