November 7, 2009 - A survey released this week by Consumer Reports identifies some of the best online and retail stores for buying electronics this holiday season. The consumer organization surveyed 35,000 electronic purchases made in the period from January 2008 and June 2009 to determine where holiday shoppers can get good deals on popular electronics.
Vanns.com, a relatively little-known online retailer compared to others on the survey, was right up there with the big electronics giants like Amazon.com and Newegg.com, according to the survey. In terms of brick-and-mortar stores, Costco received the highest marks for product quality and customer service. Wal-Mart and Target fared poorly on those criteria.
Vanns is primarily an online retailer, but they do have several locations in Montana. Some of its current deals include a Panasonic Lumix 10.1 megapixel camera for $99.97 and a Sony 14-inch 320GB laptop with Windows 7 for $799.99. Newegg.com, which also scored highly in the Consumer Reports survey, also offers daily deals on select electronics.
Holiday shoppers can get more information on the where to get the best holiday deals by picking up the December edition of Consumer Reports magazine.
