The holiday shopping season gets earlier and earlier each year, but the latest crop of tech gadgets will simplify your shopping and help you avoid the madness that ensues when December rolls around. For pictures of all these must-have tech gifts for 2009, check out the slideshow below.

1. Apple Magic Mouse ($69)

For the Apple fans in your family, the new Magic Mouse makes a great stocking stuffer. This sleek mouse uses multi-touch technology, and it works wirelessly with your Mac thanks to integrated Bluetooth.

2. Altec Lansing Orbit MP3 Travel Speaker ($39.95)

The Altec Lansing Orbit MP3 is just plain cute, and it's perfect to have around when you want more sound than your cell phone or laptop speakers can provide. It plugs into any music phone, laptop or MP3 player with a 3.5mm headphone jack, and comes with a zippered travel case.

3. Barnes & Noble Nook ($259)

The Nook e-book reader hasn't even been released yet, but all the buzz over this sleek beauty ensures it will be a hot purchase for the holidays. A unique dual-screen design and access to Barnes & Noble's large e-book store make this the perfect gift for the book lover in your house.

4. Insignia Blu-ray Disc Player NS-BRDVD3 ($99.99)

For $100, this budget Blu-ray player offers an impressive array of features, including Netflix streaming and BD-Live compatibility. There are certainly better Blu-ray players out there, but the Insignia NS-BRDVD3 (sold exclusively at Best Buy) is a great pick if your holiday shopping budget is tight.

5. Samsung 46" LED HDTV UN46B8000 ($3,099.99)

If you want to really impress that special someone, this Samsung LED HDTV fits the bill. Sure, it's pricey, but a gorgeous display and shockingly thin design (only 1.2 inches deep) make it a worthy splurge. While the list price is $3,100, you can find it for around $2,300 at BestBuy.com or Amazon.com.

6. Canon PowerShot SD940 IS Digital Camera ($299.99)

It's so small! At just 3.5 inches wide, the 12.1-megapixel Canon PowerShot SD940 IS is a good choice for that person on your holiday shopping list who is still using an old camera from the 1990s. It includes a 2.7-inch LCD display and comes in blue, black, silver or brown.

7. Apple iPod nano ($159)

The latest iPod nano includes a built-in video camera and FM tuner (shocker!). Free engraving at the Apple store and a wide array of colors ensure this gadget will end up in holiday stockings across the country.

8. Microsoft Zune HD ($219)

For those on your list who prefer something other than an iPod, the Microsoft Zune HD 16GB is a good bet. Stand-out features include a 3.3-inch touchscreen, integrated HD radio, a built-in web browser and Wi-Fi. A 32GB version is also available.

9. Logitech SqueezeBox Radio ($199.99)

This wireless-enabled radio is a terrific addition to any bedside table thanks to its seven-day alarm. Play music from a variety of sources, including your computer, MP3 player or Internet radio.

10. Acer Aspire One 11.6" Netbook 751h ($309.99)

The Acer Aspire One 751h is kind of a cross between a netbook and a regular laptop -- it sports a full-size keyboard and 11.6-inch display in a one-inch-thin, ultraportable chassis. With the three-cell battery, it weighs just 2.8 pounds. The glossy finish is available in black, white, red and blue.
