Hank Jr. has become synonymous with NFL Monday Night Football.

Hank Williams Jr.’s opening video for 2009 Monday Night Football will be filmed by ESPN on Monday and Tuesday, June 22-23, in Nashville.

What makes this filming extra special, though, is the chance for Music City's own local sports-meets-music enthusiasts, who have a shot at being cast as extras in this football season's MNF shoot.

Specifically, footage from the upcoming local shoots reportedly will be included in each of the slated 17 ESPN Monday Night Football telecasts during the NFL's regular- fall season, according to a Tennessean newspaper report.

Hank Jr. won't be the lone music star on the set, though, because pop-star Gloria Estefan, too, will be in the house, so to speak, during the first day of the shoot, which will go down at Centennial Park. (Based on available info, however, this writer is not confident Estefan will be one local extras will see a lot of, so keep that in mind if she's your sole motivator for serving as an extra.)

In the meantime, area wanna-be extras who know it's really all about Hank Jr.--who's won four Emmy trophies for the sports spots thus far--and NFL football when all is said and done, do try securing one of the on-set extra spots just for the sheer fun of it. Per ESPN,  250 extras are needed to take part in the 2-8 p.m. Monday filming at the Parthenon, 2600 West End, where crews will shoot an interior party scene.

Then, the following day, ESPN crews hope to wrangle double that number of extras, 500 people, at the same locale to shoot outside party-shot scenes from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Extras may begin checking in for the shoot beginning at 7 o'clock this night, June 23, ESPN reps have said.

According to reports, extras need to wear club/concert attire or an NFL jersey with pants--no other logos are allowed. Wanna-be extras also must be at least age 18 and possess a valid driver's license or government-issued ID to take part in the football 'n' music happening.
