“Stars of Country Music Extravaganza” is what Oprah Winfrey has dubbed her Tuesday, April 14, 2009, program that will play host to four of country music’s hottest tickets.

Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker, Sugarland and Carrie Underwood will cozy up on the Oprah couch with the queen of daytime talk Tuesday afternoon to share some of their on-the-spot confessions, such as how Rucker’s just been waiting and waiting for Oprah to give him a call and how Chesney hopes to have a family, eventually.

“Oh, yeah,” Chesney shares with Winfrey during the hourlong broadcast. “I don't think that the next 20 years of my life is going to revolve around sound checks, tour buses and a catering truck.”

Meanwhile, recent ACM Entertainer of the Year Underwood—whose personal life seems to be front-page entertainment news—tells Winfrey it's tough to date while in the public eye.

“It's really strange,” Underwood confirmed. “I mean, you're under a microscope, and even if you start—you're getting to know somebody, you just met them—they have you married off next week, you know what I mean? So it's a little difficult, and it's a little difficult to know people's intentions, I think.”

Viewers also will get to see the always-impeccably dressed Underwood sing "Just a Dream" during the show, and she’s also featured in a segment that was taped in Nashville just for her Oprah-ness. In it, cameras roll behind Underwood, as she prepares for her next album, including a sneak-peek at a songwriting session, as well as taking in an Underwood workout session.

Chesney, too, will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the logistics of creating his Sun City Carnival Tour, which opens this month. Per the Oprah show, the tour includes a trio of rehearsal areas, five computer systems and some 85 bodies to make it flow, as well as tons upon tons of cables, hi-definition video monitors, staging and, um, a giant fish. (Go figure.)

This particular Chicago-based Oprah Winfrey Show broadcast, which was taped on Chesney’s 41st birthday, is something Chesney prepared for, he has said.

"If she's going to give you the time, then you better give her something pretty special," Kenny remarked, regarding his time with Winfrey. "That lady deserves no less."

Those interested in catching the April 14, 2009, program are advised to check local listings to ensure broadcast times. In the Nashville area, however, would-be watchers can catch the special “Stars of Country Music Extravaganza” on the local NBC affiliate, Channel 4, beginning at 4 p.m. Central.
