With Colorado ranking as one of the worst states in the nation for child abuse deaths, and with donor and grant dollars at an all time low, Realities for Children is sponsoring its eighth ride and rally to combat the problem. Bikers from all over will come together Memorial Day weekend for one of the largest charity poker runs on the Front Range.
The motorcycle ride and rally draws more than 3,000 riders and event attendees. One of my foster children has been the lucky recipient of monies from Realities for Children -- we desperately needed funding for her that wasn't provided by the county or any other organization. When Realities for Children was approached, the response was immediate and monies were available for our foster daughter within days. I can't say enough good things about this organization and the work it does to help abused, neglected, and at-risk youth.
Whether or not you ride, please add this event to your calendar and head to Loveland over Memorial Day weekend to help Front Range youth. The ride and other events will be held at Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson, 4250 Byrd Drive in Loveland (just off I-25 and Crossroads Blvd north of Centerra).
