Whether you are a full-time resident of Florida or a seasonal resident, vacationer, or visitor here on business, appreciation for the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets along both the east and west coasts of Florida isn't easily overlooked. You can't miss them! It's breathtaking to rise in the morning and find beautiful golden sunlight streaming in, welcoming the new day to sleepy eyes. During the Fall, the sunrises and sunsets are especially breath-taking and in some ways make a small concession for the lack of Fall colors that other areas of our country experience annually.

It's no wonder Northerners for years have made the annual trek to Florida for the winter. Who can blame them! With gorgeous outdoor weather for the better part of the cooler months, the year-round fishing, golfing, beaches, sightseeing, water tours, island exploration, and scenic wildlife areas, what other state could offer so much to its residents and visitors?

Florida even has a town named Sunrise. Today, November 7, 2009, the city of Sunrise is holding their annual City of Sunrise Cultural Festival at City Park from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. that includes food, cultural events, local retailers, live music and rides for the children. Admission is free!

Fall is a great time in Florida to just go sit on the beaches and enjoy the brisk breezes, watch the aquatic birds scampering along the shore's edge, read a good book, and soak in a little Vitamin D. If photography is your vice, many species of seabirds and a number of other aquatic wildlife can be quietly observed in many areas along the beach strands, causeways, marinas and bridges. From St. Augustine to Miami, sunrise is a spectacular daily event.

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge offers 5.5 continuous miles all the way from Tampa to St. Petersburg. It offers a perfect example of unbelievable scenery that can be enjoyed 360º all year round. From the center span of the bridge and if you time it just right, sunsets to the west can be witnessed in their magnificent glory. If sunrises are your inspiration to each day, schedule and drive across the Sunshine Skyway and witness our most glorious time of day up close and personal. It will be a place in your memory you will crave visiting often.

You can even schedule and plan your visits to any one of the numerous scenic areas to watch our beautiful sunsets and sunrises with this handy online tool, Custom Sunrise Sunset Calendar.  Pick a day, plan an early morning, a late evening with a packed basket snack or even a picnic dinner and make a night of it after a celebration of the sun setting over the Gulf of Mexico. Florida's western coastline has a limitless selection of areas for enjoyable spots to cheer on that orange, glowing fireball of gases as it sinks slowly over the sea in celebration of another day. And, be sure to bring your camera. You can never enjoy nor witness too many of Florida's sunrises or sunsets.
