The Tea Party Express, a/k/a the "teabaggers," recently held their rally in Los Angeles. Now it's the other side's turn. On Thursday, November 5 at noon, The Young Turks of Sirius/XM Satellite Radio will lead a demonstration in favor of health insurance reform, including a "public option," at CNN's Los Angeles headquarters. The address is 6430 West Sunset Blvd., Suite 300. The Young Turks have also organized rallies on Thursday at CNN's Atlanta and New York City headquarters.
Why is CNN being singled out? Because, according to The Young Turks, CNN has failed adequately to point out either to its guests (including some conservative "Blue Dog" Democratic Senators) or to its viewers that the majority of Americans favor a "public option" as part of health insurance reform. The Young Turks are correct that recent polls, such as this one from The Washington Post and ABC News, indicate that "public option" supporters outnumber its opponents.
Will the anti-"teabag" express (can we call it the Coffee Express? The Espresso?) generate anywhere near the attention that the "teabaggers" have received, and, more importantly, any legislative gains? Stay tuned.
