Parents in Metro Detroit are making their lists and checking them twice.  Along with lists of electronics, gadgets, and toys for the tots, parents can now make a new list of Santa's impending arrival at area malls and city festivals.

Santa makes his first joyous and thunderous arrival at Oakland Mall in Troy this Friday, November 6th at 7 p.m.  Children will love the beautiful windows and fifth annual fireworks spectacular outside of Macy's beginning at 7 p.m.  Santa's arrival will be celebrated with live music, entertainment, face painting and balloons at 7:30 p.m.  A festive collaboration, parents and children are sure to enjoy the celebration.

Join other families this year, as well, for the third annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Partridge Creek Mall on Saturday,  November 21 at 7 p.m.  Spectacular light displays and decor accompany those strolling down the path to meet with Santa Claus.  As there is no photography provided, parents are advised to bring their cameras to capture the magical moments.  There will also be performances by the Michigan Opera Theatre Children's Chorus.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus will also be present at this year's 58th annual Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 6th from 1:45-4:00 p.m.  The theme of this year's downtown Rochester parade is "The Twelve Days of Christmas".  This event is also broadcast annually on WXYZ Channel 7.

These are wonderful opportunities for children to learn the spirit of the holiday season, and parents can rejoice in the fact that all of this fun is perfectly free!
