Sometimes it's hard to believe a metropolis like Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is just a short trip over the Peace Bridge, but it is, and there are a number of places for sports fans to take advantage of. One of those places is the Rogers Centre, located near the CN Tower, bordered by Front St. W., Spadina Ave., the Gardiner Expressway, and John St.
The main tenant of the Rogers Centre is Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays. The Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League also play their home games in the stadium, and the National Football League's Buffalo Bills are scheduled to play four more "home" games and some preseason games at the stadium between now and the 2012 season. NCAA Football's International Bowl also takes place at Rogers Centre on New Year's weekend.
One cool aspect of Rogers Centre is its fully-retractable roof, which opens or closes in 20 minutes. Also of interest is the attached hotel, the Renaissance Toronto, which features 348 rooms, 70 of which overlook the stadium's interior. Capacity of the stadium is 46,105 for baseball, 46,374 for football, and up to 55,000 for concerts.
