Two high ranking city officials charged with assault in a domestic incident

Mayor Sheila Dixon's chief of staff Demaune Millard and Housing and Community Department Director Elizabeth Smith were both charged with second-degree assault last week. The Maryland Judiciary Case Search states that Smith filed the charges based on an incident that took place on 6/6/2009 and another one that took place on 4/15/2008. Millard's charge against Smith is based on an incident that took place on 6/6/2009. Smith also serves on the liquor board and ran unsuccessfully for city council in the 6th district in 2007.
