Doni Glover also feels that the City Council President should not have pulled out the race card when she tried to explain the Brian Morris situation.
Doni Glover also feels that the Mayor and Council President are " at each other's throats " and that Stephanie may be positioning herself for a a run for mayor in 2011. It is highly unusual for a sitting city council president to run against a sitting mayor.
Glover mentions something I have not heard yet:
"And in 2011, there are already rumblings of a Michael Sarbanes and/or a Mary Pat Clarke mayoral run"
I do not know about that one. He implies that Dixon will be weak and vulnerable but I disagree. Sarbanes already lost and Clarke's time has passed. I do not see why they would even try to run against Sheila Dixon. If Clarke really wanted to give it a shot then she should have run in 2007. She had the support of a diverse group of people and her name was by far the best known at that time. Dixon's name has already grown larger than Clarkes and there will be a sympathy factor for Dixon amongst many that will override any loyalty to Clarke.
For Dixon to lose in 2011 someone extraordinary and truly special will have to appear out of nowhere very soon. I do not see any new force like that suddenly materializing. The same old names are not going to beat Dixon.
I want to add that in my previous post I added a chart at the bottom a few hours after I originally uploaded the article. Check it out here.
