As many of you know I have been writing about lowering city property taxes for months. It has been an issue of mine for years. I was happy to see the Urbanite publish an article about Loyola economics professor Stephen Walters and his ingenious tax cutting idea.  Walters believes that a drastic cut in property taxes to the level of our neighboring counties (about a 1% rate) will help reinvigorate Baltimore the same way drastic property tax cuts reinvigorated San Francisco and Boston in the late 20th century.  I hope this article puts further pressure on the city to come up with some creative tax/economic solutions and plans soon.
