I received the following information from a source living in Pigtown. Read it here before anywhere else:
"On 02/27/2006 a Baltimore City Court found, Anthony Banks DOB: 07/20/1988, guilty of seven (7) charges related to drug dealing, case 205229014. The Court sentenced DRUG DEALER Banks to eight (8) years in prison—suspending most of the sentence and placing Anthony Banks on three (3) years of probation. On 12/07/2006 Police arrested DRUG DEALER Banks, again, on the following five (5) charges: “Hand Gun on Person”, “Hand Gun in Vehicle”, “CDS-Possession of Firearms”, “Possession of Firearm/Ammo . . .”, “Reg Firearm: Illegal Possession”, case 106355038. However, this arrest and these charges did not keep Anthony Banks off the streets of Baltimore.
In late August of 2008, DRUG DEALER Anthony Banks brought his gang to Pigtown and set up shop. On 09/22/2008, Police arrested DRUG DEALER Banks, again, on two (2) charges related to drug dealing, case 2B01983326. Anthony Banks, DOB: 07/20/1988, posted bond the following day, 09/23/2008. Since his release, residents report daily of Anthony Banks’ gang dealing drugs on S.Carey St between Washington Blvd and Glyndon Ave.
Without regard for law abiding citizens, Baltimore City Courts continue to suspend sentences of drug dealers, place them on probation and send them back to the streets. For example: James Lofton Jr, (case 1B01975807) pleaded not guilty to CDS charges. He received probation before judgment and a $157.50 fine despite the fact a year earlier the police arrested him on attempted murder charges. Ariel Denise Mason, (case 108240026) found guilty on six counts of CDS, received three years probation. Norman Scott, (case 86076101156) found guilty on six charges of CDS, received three years probation. Lavond D Smith, (case 0B01965929) found guilty on five charges of CDS, received two years probation. William Anthony Battle, (case 108246021) found guilty on four charges of CDS, received two years probation. Robert Lilly, Sr, (case 5B01973746) received probation before judgment and a $500.00 fine for two charges of CDS. Baltimore City Courts have unleashed all of the above drug dealers back out onto the streets.
Dan Cosgrove, President of the Washington Village/Pigtown Neighbor Planning Council (WPNPC) has begun organizing Pigtown residents for a protest to take place either at a City Court House or perhaps the State House to shed light on Baltimore City Court’s unilaterally legalizing drug dealing. The date of the protest will be announced after Mr. Cosgrove meets with advisers."
