I am always looking for great places to get delicious, unique, and affordable food and there is nothing better than stumbling onto a gem that offers up all that and more.  Let me introduce you to The Q Worldly BBQ on 3rd Ave. in the Cherry Creek area of Denver.  This bbq restaurant serves up the standard items from pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, and ribs as well as hot links, catfish and pork shoulder for a little more selection to the menu.  They do it all in an open, casual setting, complete with full bar, table service, lounge seating, and a stage for nightly jazz and blues acts.

When you enter The Q , you are greeted with the unmistakable smell of smokey bbq and sweet tang of the sauces that linger on notes from the wailing sax of nightly music acts. The standards are served up here quite simply, as they believe, "that great Barbeque should be able to stand alone and that sauce is not needed if the meat is properly seasoned and cooked." You can find your favorites served as sandwiches or as a plate with a few sides.  Not only do they offer a great menu, they also offer 17 speciality sauces, 14 of which are "bbq" sauces, many ala carte toppings for the sandwiches and numerous classic bbq sides to make your meal complete.  I can only take you so far; at some point you are going to have to put down the mouse, step away from the computer, and go and try it for yourself.  I can, however, tell you how I handled myself when faced with my visit to The Q.

The visit started out with a side of onion rings so there'd be an excuse to visit the sauce bar as soon as possible and get the flavors flowing immediately.  Then, St. Louis style ribs and a pulled pork sandwich, a side of beans and grilled corn on the cob were delivered to the table.  What an awesome meal and rad experience.  BBQ is one of those food styles that is unique to the specific location, since everyone thinks that theirs is the best, it was helpful to have a knowledgeable server that had opinions and suggestions for the menu and the sauces to accompany ribs and pulled pork sandwich.

The Q Worldly BBQ does it right, head over and try their amazing offerings, but call ahead to see what time the band is going on so you can take advantage of both the great food and live music.  Generally the bands hit the stage around 6 p.m. earlier in the week and around 9 p.m. on the weekends, but call ahead to be sure, (303) 399-7227.
