In today’s world time is of the essence. Most everyone is working extended hours as a necessity. If you are one of the lucky ones, the ones that have a job, you are required to do the work of more than one. Undoubtedly it is better than having no job at all. The stress tends to build up when you don’t have much time to recreate and exercise. This means you need to make the most of what time you do have.
We are now approaching the time of the year that is the most dangerous to move about. In the winter your odds of having an accident are greatly increased. Snow and ice make getting around at times very dangerous. Slipping and falling can prove disastrous to your health. Skidding off the road or into another vehicle is a greater probability. If this happens will you survive the impact intact or be spending days in recovery?

If you ever watch football you soon are impressed by the player’s ability to jump up after a tremendous impact and begin the next play as though nothing happened. How is this possible? Largely this is due to their strength and conditioning. We can take a lesson from these athletes’. We need to get as strong as possible so that when an unexpected calamity occurs we can hopefully remain unscathed or at least recover quickly.

To meet these two conditions we can turn to static contraction. Static contraction is a method of conditioning that allows tremendous increases in muscular strength with a dramatic decrease in the time allocated to it as compared to standard weight training. So what’s the catch? The catch is that it sounds too good to be true.
