It is Wednesday and time to start making those weekend plans and there are many options for harvest celebrations, homecomings, and festivals. A standout among these options is the 23rd Annual Lake Mary-Heathrow Festival of the Arts in Lake Mary, Florida. This festival boasts live entertainment, an antique car show, exhibits of work by local high school students and a juried arts and crafts show with over 200 world renown entrants from 12 states. The diverse array of art media will present an opportunity to get a jump on shopping for holiday gifts as well as new items to spruce up your home for the holidays.

The mission of the festival is to encourage art appreciation and award scholarships to area students who wish to study the arts.

The Festival of the Arts opens Saturday, Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. with Opening Ceremonies taking place from 11:00 to 12:00. Entertainment on the main stage starts after the Opening Ceremonies and continues until 4:45 p.m.. On Sunday, Nov. 8th, the festival opens at 10:00 a.m. and entertainment runs from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m.
