Diet Wired X Burner is a picks up where the original leaves off, giving a little tiny buzz, but clean enough to make for a nice clean post-workout drink. I like that weight loss ingredients are in here and the drink is healthy, but like its corn-syrup infused predecessor, this drink does not have enough energy ingredients in it to really pep a person up.I do like the use of Citrimax, and the placebic affect of seeming better for you after a good workout. Regardless, it makes sense to go with a sugar free, low sodium beverage if you want to appeal to the fitness conscious.

Nutrition/Buzz:5
The big differentiation between this drink and a low carb Wired is the addition of Citrimax, a hugely popular diet and weight loss supplement. Citrimax is a plant extract that comes from the South Asian fruit 'Garcina cambogia'.The dried rind has been used for centuries throughout Southeast Asia as a food preservative and flavoring agent. This contains naturally occurring hydroxy citric acid, which has proved to be an appetite suppressant. Even better, Citrimax blocks the fat deposits in our body and promotes metabolism. So weight loss and diet circles have been all about this - arguing if appetite suppressing pills and drinks are worth it. According to medical double blind trials, 2800 mg a day is safe for human consumption, and works if taken regularly for months...
Of course, 28 grams of anything in an energy drink would definitely be taste overkill. Their site lists this as 830 mg per can. This means that you could drink these like water and probably not feel the effects or lose any weight from this burner. Still, it is better than selling it as green tea and advertising drinking it will make you lose weight.
In terms of outright energy, this can is also pretty light. 1000mg of taurine and only 97mg of caffeine for the entire 16oz can, less than Red Bull or Monster. Even with all the metabolism stuff I found my energy waning soon after downing a can. If you want a mellow kick - and are looking for a drink which, if nothng else, won't make you gain weight, this might be a good choice. But for most drinkers, this drink has potential, but the doses of nutrients are just too low.

I did like this drink more than the orginal one, maybe because I was expecting this drink to be low in sodium, but I also think it has to do with the crisper and more flavorful notes of citrus than the original one did. This drink also seemed very carbonated, so it is hard to drink fast. I let it sit open for 10 minutes, and it became very easy to slam down. I think this drink might appeal to those who are trying to have an energy drink, but also keep up healthy appearances. This was also less sour and more sweet than the original one, which helped alot.

Packaging:8
This design is tailor made to the 24 hour fitness crowd. I notice how this one has the listing of caffeine, citrimax and taurine, unlike the full calorie version. Copper lettering on a nice clean crisp white background with black flames. THis is one of the most promising of all the Wired color combinations, as they have almost exactly the same design, but change their color palette to suit the many drink combos they have. They did a good one with this, using the gold X and the copper Wired brand offset with red outlines. While I am not a big fan of the silly bright red "Diet" at the top, it is still a very very pretty can.
