No Fear hits the Motherload

In a very short time Sobe transformed their line of OK energy drinks to this amazing product with fantastic art to go with it!

packaging:9
OK - I am a sucker - I know it. I am not sure how much more planning went into the "new" no fear as opposed to the "old" one. This certainly is a new can, and I easily mistook it for a much MUCH cooler drink than the stupid Gold variety or those silly while essentials they put out. I am just in love with flying skulls. I'm easy to please - probably even if this drink tasted like caffeinated urine, I probably would give it mad props because the art is so cool. Winged skulls work for everything, from 80s metal bands to harleys and Bikers to Screamo and basically anything counter culture.

And of course my daily ride has no lack of skulls wings and eyeballs...

As for the drink itself? I was thouroughly pleased with the taste and the buzz, making this one of the best of the big boys.

Taste:9
I think is it very telling that all of the reviews and taster I found find something else to compare the flavor if this drink with. Ed Junkie found orange pineapple lemon mango. Drink addict reviewers seemed to also think orange or citrus. Canned reviews thought they tasted a guava grapefruit lime/peach. Taurine Rules tastes lemon, orange, pear and mango. They got it all wrong. This is pure Granny smith. The apple is strong with this one - from ther color to the tart crisp finish. Besides, it really does not matter. The carbonation, flavor and overall tart but not too tart quality make this one of the best of the entire nNo Fear line, if not the best of the really-easy-to-find-anywhere line. If you only see this amidst a sea of Rockstars, Monsters and Red Bulls - you will not be disappointed.

Nutrition/buzz:8
First, the gimmick: This drink is supposed to overload you on vitamins. It does that - although that does not really do anything. After your body has reached max levels of saturation of B and C, the rest just makes vitamin enriched pee.
There is oher good stuff in here though - like gape seed extract ( great antioxidant, but it tastes damn good too) there is the standard energy mix in here with 2000 mg of Taurine, Inositol, Ginseng, L-Carnitine and L-Arginine, and 300% DV of vitamins B6, B12, and C. There is a good deal of unhealthy packed in here too - with 260 high fructose filled calories. I wish they thought of a way to do this without all the HFCS.

In terms of rush - there is a slightly above average 182 mg of caffeine - which WILL get you moving, although not so much as to get you really pumped. I really liked the buzz and it kept on for about 3-4 hours.

Website:10 energy.nofear.com
This site does so many things wrong - but somehow manages to pull it all off beautifully into a great design. It starts off with a javascript shake that makes your whole browser wobble in the direction of the landing energy drink cans ( rule 1 - dont mess with my browser), then blasts you with post-punk emo rock with a barely visible on/off switch ( also rule 1 - no unstoppable crappy music). There is just so much right with this site that the all of the little broken rules dont matter in the least. The UI is fantastic, making the site look simple and easy to navigate, while actually having 12 different links with lots of content. It is just presented in such a friendly way that if you want the nitty gritty you can find it, but the most important information is clear and easy to see. The design is not over the top - but is still very appealing to the market it is trying to grab. The code is nice and clean - getting the job done with no fuss or extra garbage. Cuker Design did a great job bringing this brand to life - and should definitely be proud of this simple and clean showcase.
