Monster Chai Hai is possibly the tastiest of all the new Monster Javas, and a first for Energy drinks - chai tea. This is without any doubt the best flavor of all the Monster, but the hardest to find in stores. While most places carry the regular blue, green and orange, ad some might also carry their purple, yellow and BFC, most convenience coolers dont have the room to carry all their coffee brands as well.  If you like this drink - rememeber the store and stock up, for I have a suspicion this drink wont be with us for long.  Without a big presence, no mention on the website and no big distribution, I would not be surprised to see Chai Hai get dropped before given a fair chance.

Taste:8
Very sweet and super creamy. The flavor is completely Chai, very strong and very aromatic. I could taste the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, peppercorns and fennel that make Chai such an amazing tea. I have loved chai for many years, and this is as good as any you could get in the box at your local natural grocers.  I only purchased one can, or I would be interested in trying this drink hot as well - as chai goes good both steamy and over ice.

Buzz/Nutrition: 7
Sucralose is very heavy in this one. I did not mind the flavor, but could completely understand how Chai Enthusiasts would have a problem with it. The chai most buy  is sweetened with honeyor sugar, not lab chemicals. There is the usual Monster mix in here too, with 200mg of taurine, B vitamins and the usual energy drink mix(inositol, glucruonolactone, ginseng, etc...). There is 180 calories, 26 grams of sugar, 8 grams of protein and 3 grams of fat per can, and the completely expected 160mg of caffeine found in all Monster drinks. I was hoping for more out of this can, because there could be so many healthy and caffeinated properties to this drink than just using chai for flavoring.
Chai tea itself has many things that could have boosted this Moster to monster proportions. Rather than their usual 80mg of caffeine per serving, they could use the black tea in chai's base for an extra caffeinated boost. Chai has been reported as helping lower cholesterol and help Alzheimers, even boost immune systems and heal muscles faster. In this case, however, the Chai is for taste, not for nutrition.

Packaging: 6
My only real problem with this can, even though it is quite beautiful, is the lack of originality it SHOULD have for being the only chai energy drink I have come across. The Gold M and the faded leaves are nice, and the use of fonts is nice too - but it should really be something more momentous than that.Therre is a lack of caffeine content and lack of website info, and a pretty stupid paragraph about the kind of people who drink this chai. While certainly better than so many others, this could have been something special.

Not even mentioned on Monster's own horrid site.
