Arizona Green Tea Energy Drink

April 11, 10:36 AM
by Big Red Boots, Caffeine Examiner

In a rusty can decorated with bright red cherry blossoms comes Arizona Ice Tea's latest offering. Arizona has always been about the packaging, and was the first bottles I ever collected. Many years ago, I hoarded my first drink package - the uber cool blue glass arizona teas. As a matter of fact, I was so in love with them I used them to decorate my sister in-law's wedding tables. For a few summers, I drank vats of the stuff - pretending it was a healthy alternative to pop. Of course, it was a high fructose nightmare of ingredients, but I did not know any better, nor did I really care.
Now, older and wiser, I care about what I put in my body, and would think twice before injecting some of the stuff found in those drinks in me. Id still probably drink it, but I would be sure to read the ingredients first....
This tea makes it easy for me to fall in love with them again. It tastes great, looks fantastic and has plenty of caffeine in it - with almost no crash. Although I can't see the world through its blue fileterd lenses, Arizona has finally made nother drink it would be OK to hoard again.

Packaging:9
Beautiful can, with fantastic art - still fitting the theme of their other teas, while adding mystique and beauty, bits of trees and blossoms, with marial artists doing battle in the background. I like their listings of all the important stuff; website, caffeine intake, etc , without compromising design. Both the function and form of this can are about as good as they come.
Taste:7
I am not really a fan of energy teas, as they usually do a poor job of masking the crap they put into it.. Arizona did some major work though, masking all the ick flavor, plus even adding in some carbonation, which usually does not site well with tea. I was surprised at how good this drink tasted, full flavored and not too sweet, but not sour and grassy.

Nutrition/Buzz:8
lost some caffeine from the original non diet version
Taurine: 1000mg; Caffeine: 80mg; Panax Ginseng: 100mg; Inositol: 100mg; Guarana: 100mg; Glucuronolactone: 100mg; Milk thistle: 35mg - also full of B and C

fast loading and not overload on your senses, it works well for it's intended audience without pandering. The drink is easy to navigate to, and is stunningly beautiful. The UI is very intuitive and was chock full of info. Mpire Creative was the design firm behind the site, and it is worth ever penny arizona paid them for. fantastic use of jukebox - with original non painful blaring techno. From CEO Vincent J. Ficarra's site:
The site was designed, scripted and developed by the tireless Mpire Creative crew : Moon, Scott Buckets, Marvyn, Bill, Myself and team... BIG UP for all your efforts...thx Wes and everyone at AZ for giving us complete creative autonomy. Musical Jukebox featuring original beats from Scott Buckets, and original music from Skye Marona, This Blue Holiday, Laser Blade, Butter Versus, and Ginger Rose. Plus a spotlight feature of yours truly in the featured artists section. All the art was inspired by the beautiful packaging artwork and tweaked with a hint of urban funk.
