Wired 3000 is a wired 5000 for scaredy cats.

This drink answers the age old question - Does taurine actually help boost energy? Well, for any of you who don't already know the answer to this - it does not. There are many benefits to taurine, but elevated energy is not one of them. That always strikes me as interesting, because energy drinks like this can of Wired 3000 boosts the level of taurine WAY off the charts - enough to grow a set of Bull Testicles of my very own. This is like the Wired 5000, only a little smaller.

Well, this wired is pretty much like the rest, except for a few notable differences. First, the caffeine is a little more powerful in this one thatn in many of their other flavors. This has 188mg, compared to the usual 100mg many of their drinks do. THis also has a bunch more B complex than their usual brand, with a healthy sized dose of 500%RDI of B6, and more than 100%RDI for the rest of the Bs. So in therms of buzz, this is a better way to go than the basic Wireds. It does have a big dose of calories from high fructose corn syrup, which also gave me quite a crash to recover from too. It is also pretty high on preservatives and food dyes.

Gummy Gummy Gummy. Not bitter, but you can definitely taste the taurine in here. And unless you are a big fan of the way taurine tastes ( imagine opening up a multivitamin gel cap and swallowing the powder for a comparison) I would say it is not for most people. The rest of the flavor is Wired's regular Red Bull Clone taste. While not underinkable, this is not one of the most tasty offerings by Wired. I have certainly drank down worse....

Looks like a wired drink - flames - basic template with different text. This is unimaginative, but still serviceable. I like the caffeine amount listing, as well as the easy to read fonts. One of the things that really gets me abotu theses wired cans is how they keep mentioning how their drinks have "maximum caffeine allowed!" by whom? DOes their machine break if they put in too much? Or is there a mystery caffeien police buried somewhere in the hidden tunnels of the FDA headquarters that they only know about?
