Why do drinks think adding more cheap crappy vitamins to your diet is makes their drinks more special? This is another example of how a firmer hand is needed for energy drink companies to reign in their ingredients. Just because you can't overdose on it, does not make it healthy. Truthfully, I am sick of having the most nutrient laden pee in the state. Every day, it seems like I have enough B-12 to help the WW2 bomber war effort in the pacific. This drink does not help any. With enough B 12, B6 and b3 in me to cause numbness in my extremities, the massive size of this drink (24ounces) I am no less scared. If vitamin B really does aid a person in the quest for more energy, this drink should get me climbing the ceiling. Unfortunately, it just has me running for the Loo a lot.
Packaging:6
This drink same thing as the smaller can of Berry rush, just really freaking huge.24 ounces of Mountain Dew is a decent amount, so a good 24 ounces of energy drink should be Over The Top. Unfortunately, the packaging does not really convey that. This is exactly the same thing as the smaller can to a larger scale. Same flames, same colors, same everything - which is OK. Some of the printing, such as the FDA warning was washed out with gold on white lettering. I really would have preferred this to have some sort of resealable cap, like almost anything that comes in this size.
Nutrition:5
I also would have preferred some more intense ingredients than their regular formula too. This is the same stuff found in the smaller cans, as well as in their green B-12 rush - only upped by 1 serving. While I now have over FOUR THOUSAND PERCENT my RDI of B12, SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY PERCENT of B6 and THREE HUNDRED PERCENT of Vitamin B3, there really is not much else there. Not other vitamins or nutrients - just Crazy Bs.
In terms of rush - this drink is totally not worth it. There is only 50mg of caffeine per serving, or 150 per can, so it can barely register during the looong time it will take you to finish this can. While I like the huge size for it's novelty, the drink is like a high fructose corn syrup filled soda - full of preservatives and not even a little healthy. For this amount I would hope for a little less calories, a little more nutrients (Just no more Bs please).
Taste:8
For a very candy skittles-like drink, this was pretty good. The drink is a light purple color - which should tell you right there that this is going for Soda more than functional or serious energy. On that scale, the taste is great - a unique berry flavor that is very crisp and light. It finished a bit gooey and syrupy thanks to the HFCS being so prominent. Think Berry flavored Sprite as a comparison. Really this is quite good - and while nothing mind blowing, it is enjoyable for the full 24 ounces.
