The news coverage of the Ft. Hood shootings once again brings up the question of whether news agencies are being unbiased in their coverage of events. Few news agencies have brought up the facts of the Ft. Hood shootings without mentioning that the man being charged was of the Islamic faith. This in and of itself would not be enough to convict the agencies of being biased in their news coverage. But with the added facts that others, including Jason Rodriguez who was part of a mass shooting last Friday, rarely have their religions reported to the public. It is not just to judge a man by his faith, as it is his actions that he should be judged by. And it is not just to judge a system of belief by those who are not acting in accordance with it's beliefs. And as such I feel that the news agencies have a long way to go if they are to bring us unbiased accounts of news events. Especially here in America where there is to be liberty and justice for all.
