Look for higher point totals from Ginobili while Duncan and Parker are out with ankle injuries.

There were five games on last night’s schedule and there ended up being some high scoring games when all was said and done. The Suns and 76ers combined for 234 points with the Suns winning 119-115. The Spurs (that’s right, the Spurs) and the Raptors combined for 255 points with the Spurs scoring 131 points to gain the victory. But the crown goes to the up-and-down Warriors, who scored 146 points on their way to a 41-point victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The point total was the most points scored for the franchise sine 1994 when they scored the same point total against the same franchise.

Roller Coaster Warriors – The Warriors continued their roller coaster ride bouncing back from a devastating loss to the Kings with a 41-point domination of the Timberwolves. The Warriors had 8 players in double figures, with Kelenna Azubuike leading the way with 31. Anthony Randolph finally had a breakout game with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. Anthony Morrow continued his hot shooting, scoring 20 points and hitting five out of his 6 three point attempts. The Warriors also had a total of 36 assists, with Stephen Jackson leading the way with 15 assists to go along with his 10 points. Moving forward this week, the Warriors will face three teams – Indiana, New York, and Milwaukee – that allow over 100 points per game, so this may be a good week for fantasy owners of Warrior players. On a side note, the Warriors also had 22 steals as a team, which was the most for the team since 1989. Defense leads to offense and it showed.

In Good Hands – Steve Nash continued his impressive run with another big assist night to help the Suns defeat the 76ers. Nash had his second 20-assist night of the early season to help the Suns move to 7-1 on the season. His assist total helped increase his league-leading assist average to 12.9 assists per game this season. After his 21 points last night, he is also averaging 18.3 points per game this year. These numbers are slightly better than his point and assist averages during his two MVP years of 2004-05 and 2005-06 and one could make the argument that he is doing it with less talent around him. While Nash is having a brilliant season, he is also averaging 4.6 turnovers per game, which is up from his 2.7 per game career average. On another side note, the Suns’ team recorded one block last night and you guessed it, Steve Nash was the Suns’ player who recorded the block.

Advantages of DepthTim Duncan and Tony Parker sat out last night’s game against the Toronto Raptors, both with ankle injuries. While both injuries are not believed to be serious, both players may not return to the lineup until later on during the week. However, the absences did not stop the Spurs from scoring a season-high 131 points in the victory. Manu Ginobili lead the way with 36 points and 8 assists and Richard Jefferson and George Hill both scored over 20 points. The Spurs will play the Mavericks on Wednesday before meeting the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. While Duncan and Parker are out, look for Manu Ginobili and Richard Jefferson to put up big numbers to help carry the team.
