This is a short article for you cellphone rooting fans.  This information is only current for November 2009 because rooting the DROID 2.0 may turn out soon to be beneficial.  For starter, rooting is when a user changes the stock ROM with something other people have created.


Rooting can do many things for you phone, including changing the theme of the phone and your phone internal setting for speed.  It can also make a phone into a modem of sorts in a process called tethering. But since the DROID technology is so new, we wrote this article to inform users that this may be an unsafe process for at least a month or two.

Nandroid is a back up system offered online to restore the Android 2.0 for all of the reader that have already made an oops but attempting to root their new DROID.  There are other ways to get around current rooting problem and on this forum just for DROID and Android they discuss a ton of informative situations and procedure to prefect the rooting of your cellphone.
