Dogs are now the king of the world. Or at least their own nation as bestowed upon them by Purina who calls it the Mighty Dog Nation. The nation was officially ratified today, April 4, in Boston where TV personality and Human Ambassador Maria Menounos led the new citizenry on their first march.
The Mighty Dog Nation bills itself as a celebration of the "everyday" dog. But all dogs are encouraged to join which they can do by visiting a website dedicated to its canine citizenry.
But before your dog hops over the border for a piece of his or her own homeland, consider the benefits of citizenship in a nation where canines rule:
* Receive an official Mighty Dog Nation Citizen Kit that includes a Mighty Dog dog tag, founding documents, citizenship papers, and top secret documents for "dog eyes only."
* Updates on Nation news and events.
* A voice in the Mighty Dog Nation community.
* A chance to win a role in a new dogumentary
The Mighty Dog Nation even has a bill of rights: the right to be free from leashes, vacuum cleaners and backfiring cars. In other words, all things non-Mighty.
The Mighty Dog Nation is a promotional campaign created by Purina pet food company. The concept is clever and catchy; interactive and gimmicky. But who can argue with an idea to elevate the status of dogs in the world? Even if it is tongue in cheek.
