The search function on any selling venue can indeed affect the seller's bottom line. Obviously one's items must be able to be found in order to be purchased.

On most venues there are many factors that effect an item's search ranking on the site. eBay has best match and the new TSR (Top Rated Seller) factoring in to their search, for example.

As the search results effected by these factors are not always as relevant as could be hoped for, it becomes frustrating to the buyer as well. Can't search just be search?

A review of the search feature on Bonanzle reveals a basic working search function. No outside influences, such as paid membership affect it.

Relating this to football, let the teams choices and talent decide who wins or loses not the overzealous calls of the officials. Keep the search fair, and give eCommerce merchants a fair shot on the venue.
