Grand Rounds at the Richmond Ambulance Authority, December 2, 2009 at 6pm
Mr. Douglas A. Barry, a partner and President of the Law Firm of Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen will present "Liability, Your Job and Your Rights."
I will discuss the history and current state of liability law & protection or lack thereof in the Commonwealth of Virginia as it applies to police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, medical practice and driving. I will also discuss the applicable criminal safeguards or lack thereof pertaining to their careers. I will review practical Virginia statutes that will help them in job related situations, as well as the rights they have if they are injured on the job.

"Chest Pain: To Cath or Not to Cath – That is the Question" at St. Mary's Hospital, December 3, 2009 at 6:30pm.
Dinner begins at 6:30pm in the Auditorium, Room 174. The lecture by Dr. Robert Sisson from Cardiovascular Associates of Virginia begins at 7:30 pm. Cath lab tours are available after the lecture. ALS and BLS Super CE Weekend at Goochland-Henley Fire Rescue Training Center, Maidens, VA, February 5-7, 2010 (ODEMSA).
A 2 1/2 day course that will give ALS providers 27 hours of category one continuing education. This weekend will cover all category one CE that is not given at the “ALS Super CERT Weekend”. BLS providers will earn up to 24 category one hours. For program info, click here.
ALS Refresher at the Richmond Ambulance Authority, March 10-12 and 15-17, 2010.
Provides the 48 hours of Category 1 hours needed for ALS recertification. To register, call 804-254-1147, leave name, phone number and email address.
