With so many options to choose from and so many ads for perfectly defined lashes, it’s easy to get confused when selecting new mascara. And with eyelashes being what gives your eyes that extra impact, it’s important to be armed with the right artillery. The truth is great mascara can be very easy to find if you know what to look for. So before you head out to Sephora or CVS head straight to your magnifying mirror and look for the following:
Are your lashes long? If you have long lashes you will know! If you have any doubts your lashes are probably average to short so you will want to consider mascara with lengthening power.

Next, examine the eyelashes and determine if they are full or if they could use a little volume. Volume is always good unless you have been blessed with ultra thick lashes in which case they may end up a little gunky with a volumizing mascara. You may also want to consider using waterproof mascara for extra volume since they use a thicker formula for waterproof.

And finally, are your lashes straight? Do they have a natural curl to them? Many new types of mascara are designed to give curl along with volume and usually the bigger the brush the more curl you get.

Now that you know what your eyelashes have and what they could use, you should have a better idea of what your looking for.
