With a store called Rosemary and Thyme one might think maybe it was a garden shop. It does sell a few garden accessories but Rosemary and Thyme is a charming fashionable boutique behind the Wildflower Cafe in Exeter.
It’s safe to say the setting reminds one of something out of a Jane Austin novel. The outside wall is graced with a mural of California poppies and lupines and the courtyard features an antique birdbath with two figurines imitating, well, Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth. Flowers line the walkway and the entrance welcomes shoppers into it's country-cottage atmosphere.
Owner Paula Marvin opened Rosemary and Thyme nearly thirteen years ago. The boutique's success is no surprise considering the many varieties of accessories, clothing and jewelry provided for the boutique shopper. Her taste is diverse enough to service baby boomers and the younger generation.
Lucky Brand Jeans, tops, shoes and purses come in a selection of styles. She also carries shoes by Born and their younger line, Born Crown. A collection of Tylie Malibu leather and Swarovski crystal purses line an upper ceiling fixture above sparkling accessories. Nothing short of amazing is the availability of Brighton products; jewelry, key rings, purses, clutches, sunglasses, even charms to create your own bracelet or pair of Brighton loop earrings. Also to be had are an assortment of beautiful scarves. And there are even Hot Sox.
A trunk show featuring hats by Glitzy Bella will be held Saturday, November 14th. These baseball caps accented with Swarovski crystal look chic with a pair of Luck Brand Jeans.
