Bob Ward, inspite of being supected of killing his wife, attended her funeral on Saturday. Ward is suspected of shooting his wife, Diane Ward, on September 25th of this year. He initially told a 911 operator that he had shot his wife, but later claimed it was suicide.

The shooting death of Ward's wife came on the heels of legal problems including bankruptcy proceedings for his company Land Resource. He was also named in a federal civil suit filed by Bond Safeguard Insurance Co. concerning two high-end subdivisions called Grey Rock and Norris Lake, in North Carolina and Tennessee.

The case garnered early media attention because of the perceived odd behavior of the family members surrounding the Ward's. Ward's sister-in-law, in a recorded conversation, is heard telling Ward "The media can request transcripts of this, so we want to be pretty much as bland as possible, because these guys, you know, we just don`t want to give them anything. "

Also, in a video taken during a visit by the same sister in law to the jail, Ward is seen dancing around, laughing and joking about the water conditions in his cell. Neither show any signs of grief, inspite of the fact that his wife and her sister has been shot dead.

Ward is currently out on bail awaiting trial. He is confined to Orange County with a GPS monitoring device attached to him.
