Everyone needs a little help in the world. There’s no shame in it. We can’t be experts in everything, though Google can inspire us to try.  For example, there's the friend to call when something is of questionable edibility in the fridge and another to call when in need of a good film recommendation. Googling can be unreliable in matters of a subjective nature unless you know and trust the author- like a friend.

Consider yourself to have a new wine geek friend if ever you find yourself in need. Now, you'll be on your own in the wine aisle at your local market, and your dinner reservations at the local bistro will not have an extra seat for your wine geek to offer translation of the list you’re sweating over. However, here will be a space for open discourse on all things of a winely nature. Any question you wanted to ask, but thought the waiter would scoff, or want an opinion on the drinkability of a bottle of white zinfandel you stashed three years ago because you heard it could improve. The wine world is fraught with intimidation and an air of elitism. This is the beginning.  The first forming of a manifesto.  Helping to lift the fog, read here and begin to democratize your wine.

  1. Drink what you like. Don’t let any person, pro or not, tell you what you should like.
  2. If you don’t like something today, it doesn’t mean you can’t develop a taste if you’re so motivated. One’s palate can change even slightly from day to day.
  3. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a decent bottle - you just have to know what to look for.
  4. Wine is food. Consume it accordingly.

Add to the manifesto your thoughts, questions, ideas, and we will build this forum of the people.
