Many people have suffered from financial changes over this last year and are finding it more and more difficult to acquire and take their prescription medications. There are assistance programs and one such program is the Partnership for Prescription Assistance.
Established in 2005, PPA has helped more than five million Americans pay for medications, either for free or almost free. PPA states there are other companies that will offer to connect medical consumers to these programs for a fee, but not PPA. There is no fee with PPA, you will not be asked for money, and this is a confidential service.
America’s pharmaceutical research companies sponsor PPA and to date has over 50 partners to include the American Cancer Society, The AIDS Institute and the United Way of America. It offers the medical consumer contacts to over 2,500 generic, brand-named medications, public and private assistance programs with one phone call.
For those who wish to contact the company directly, there is also a manufacturer directory to drug producers with phone and fax number to the manufacturers individual patient assistance program.
The site is packed with information about Medicare insurance plans and Medicaid/CHIP programs (Children's Health Insurance Program). PPA also has a website to learn about what is available for children.
PPA also has connections with co-payment programs through organizations such as CancerCare and HealthWell Foundtion. A free and low-cost clinic finder is available by entering a zip code. Discount drug program card information is available with additional resources to include address, email and phone contact.
