He was the ‘it chef’ in Baltimore, the executive chef at Harbor Court Hotel and under his realm, the premiere dining room in the city. After 8 years and, many awards later Chef Rork decided to live an easier life in St Michaels, Maryland and opened the Town Dock restaurant.  I remember being in his kitchen at Harbor Court and hanging on every word during a cooking class..probably about 20 years ago.

So I get a tweet saying that Chef Rork has closed Town Dock.  I called yesterday and today only to get an answering machine. The tweet said Chef Rork was going to be working in Kent Island.  Chef Rork is moving on to share kitchen responsibilities with Executive Chef Brett Wingard at Annie’s Paramount Steak and Seafood House. I reached out to Michael Katinas at Annie’s who confirmed that Chef Rork should be there sometime this weekend.

Again, not confirmed that Town Dock is closed because there is still an answering machine message.

5-7-09 Addendum to this story.  Michael Katinas posted a note to the story that Michael Rork had another opportunity present itself for a new venture in Easton and is not going to work at Annie's.
