At this time and place, Chicken Out has the best rotisserie chicken. My favorite all-time rotisserie chicken was at Poulet, which was located on Reisterstown Road in the heart of Pikesville. They used an incredible spice blend; the aroma drove me to distraction. My boss and I would drive from Lansdowne just to get the chicken for lunch. Eventually it seemed to change but was still the best ever for flavor.
Poulet closed and I tried the Kenny Rogers Chicken, Boston Market chicken and there was nothing that could replace Poulet’s chicken. I like Tyson’s cooked whole chickens, they were tasty, almost as if they were brined or injected with flavoring. The ready cooked chickens could sit in your fridge for up to ta week and be reheated for 8 minutes in the microwave. I don't see them around anymore.
Poulet came back to town and was or is located at Windy Valley at Joppa and Falls Road. I was so excited but alas the chicken just didn’t taste the same - I haven't been back since. Is my sense memory deceiving me and were my expectations too high?
Why this little rant on rotisserie chicken – it must have been our dinner at Chicken Out tonight that had me thinking about Poulet. Do any of you remember Poulet or can you recommend a great rotisserie chicken where both the breast and thigh meat are both moist and flavorful?
