Oooh be still my heart, chocolate, lots of chocolate, to see and taste from far-and-wide under one roof with celebrity pastry chefs the likes of Jacques Torres, Nick Malgieri and more and you can go! Yes, you can - grab a friend and make a day of it.

The 12th annual Chocolate Show , the world's largest exhibition of chocolate, is returning to New York City  Friday, October 30th, Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Since the show started in Paris 15 years ago it has grown to become the world’s largest event dedicated entirely to chocolate. The cost is meager $28. What a great excuse to go to New York. Screw the traditional Halloween junky chocolates and candy corn, let us talk premium chocolate here – I want value for my calories and elevated blood sugar. The show will probably take 2 to 3 hours to attend and you have the morning or afternoon free to get in early holiday shopping.

Exhibits will range from theaters where master chefs will display culinary creations, provide audience members with recipes and cooking demonstrations, to a Chocolate Bookstore, presented by Barnes & Noble, with signings from famed pastry chefs and chocolatiers. There will also be a Chocolate Beauty Pavilion, featuring the wide variety of uses of chocolate within the beauty industry–Chocolate Body Treatments from Hershey Resort & Spa and cocoa hand treatments from Palmer’s. A KidsZone of chocolate Halloween-themed activities for will provide fun for the whole family. To celebrate the Chocolate Show taking place during Halloween weekend, Halloween costumes made entirely out of chocolate will be on display at the entrance to the Metropolitan Pavilion. Show Program

Transportation:

There are two very reasonable bus companies running to New York on a regular daily basis: MegaBus and Bolt. MegaBus leaves from the White Marsh Park N Ride (free parking in the west lot) and Bolt by the train station. I reserved my round trip ticket for $23.50.  Rates vary depending of time of departure and the capacity of the bus. Both buses include wi-fi.

Ticket information:

Tickets are available at Ticket Master in advance for $28 per adult, which allows for 2 free children tickets per adult ticket. $30 per adult ticket, at the door, if the show has not reached capacity. For a full list of exhibitors, schedules and show information please visit: www.chocolateshow.com
