What we eat for Thanksgiving

November 24, 10:24 PM

When the welcoming Wampanoags Indians brought turkey to our forefathers and started the Thanksgiving tradition could they possibly perceive the tradition of bringing family and friends together to share the bounty of the land and its economic stimulus.

What we spend on the food and drink during Thanksgiving week:

$46 million – Stuffing
$34 million – Cranberries (canned & fresh)
14 million bottles – Wine (red and white with red a bit more – favorites are Pinot Noir & Riesling)
19 million cans or $14 million in sweet potatoes and yams

Chump change!
