It seems as though Ed Schultz of MSNBC’s The Ed Show has become the personal cheerleader for the uninsured of the state of Alabama. God love that man! Of the 562,000 Alabama uninsured, there are 33,683 living in Tallapoosa County alone.
In his fired up style, Mr. Schultz has brought it to the attention of the government, the Senate, Congress, and viewers of his show, that Alabama has only one private sector insurance provider. Of all companies on the market Alabama is left to fall into the hands of United Health Care, who are fighting full force to stop Health Care Reform.
Mr. Schultz has given a voice to citizens, who work hard every day and still cannot afford to pay the high price of United Health Care insurance policies. Down home people who aren’t afraid to get to get their hands dirty, working from dawn to dusk. From the workers of textile mills, who work 12 or 14 hour shifts to the farmers, who begin working before most people wake and don’t quit until beyond bed time. Ed Schultz hears you, and he knows times are so tough. He will rattle that cage, until help comes to Alabama.
Mr. Schultz has made a point of calling out Senators Jeff Sessions and Richard Shelby, as well as Congressman Spencer Bachus, III on their decision to aid those who want to end this fight for health care for all. This would also include the four other Congressmen in the House, Sonny Callahan, Terry Everett, Bob Riley, and Robert Aderholt.
There are but two beckons of hope for the red state of Alabama. They are from the House, Mr. Robert Cramer, Jr. and Ear Hilliard. Mr. Schultz if you are listening, Alabama is watching you. Tell Mr. Cramer and Mr. Hilliard that they need to stand with their brethren Democrats and push. Push for the 562,000 uninsured of Alabama. Push for the 33,683 uninsured in Tallapoosa County. Tell Mr. Cramer and Mr. Hilliard Alabama wants Health Care Reform with a Public Option. The people of Alabama are tired of being refused care due to convenient insurance loopholes. They are tired of working tirelessly, and losing those they love due to lack of insurance and refusals of care. They are tired of having to lose everything they worked their entire lives for just to cover cost of basic medical needs and medications.
When Alabamians say they love that good ole’ boy they watch on TV, Mr. Schultz they are talking about you. Make them proud
