It is clear Mr. Obama & Co. never spent much time on the farm. These folks never learned not to step in it. Ever since Jan. 20 this man and his pals have stepped in one pile after another, piles they make for themselves.
And for us. Public service indeed.
The House just passed a bill (vote 220-215) paving the way for the federal government to take over the healthcare industry. It is expected the Senate will step in the pile and the President will sign it. In short order costs will increase, quality of care will plummet, access will not improve, and the government will have another massive, bankrupt bureacracy on its hands, and on our backs. Did you know if you don't comply with the provisions of ObamaCare, you will be charged with a felony?
For all the rational reasons to mourn this day, conservatives should celebrate. With every pile smeared all over the shoes of this administration, with every misstep they make, we are one step closer to being delivered from the barnyard.
The majority of people are already furious about this government for 101 reasons, not the least of which include horrendously wasteful and ineffectual stimulus spending, bailouts, a worsening economy, ever increasing unemployment, government takeovers of other industries, insurmountable debt on debt, weak foreign policy, cuts in defense, assaults on civil rights, the massing of concentrated power in Washington, aggravation of the culture war, enacting federal hate crimes laws, and so on.
Now, the fury of the people kindles to something beyond rage.
Just wait until they pass cap and trade and sign the Copenhagen treaty.
Wait for gun control and blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants, the repeal of DOMA and the passage of FOCA.
And then the loss of Afghanistan and the next 9/11.
If the rout is not seen in 2010, or 2012, few will be surprised when the military coup erupts. Let us pray it will be the ballot box and not the bayonet.
Meanwhile, the President perfects his ability to step in his own pile, to his own destruction.
The trouble is, he is destroying the country in the process.
Animal House? You bet.
Watch your step.
Here comes another pile.
