Hope and change in action this week as Democrats in the House hope people don't realize how ridiculous the health care bill is, and a major change from the past when our "representatives" actually read things that would affect the future of the nation.
Less than five hours of debate on a bill costing well over a trillion dollars by many estimates (Nancy Pelosi of course claims less than 900 billion- what a bargain) that is about 200 billion dollars per hour of debate. I'm sure the brilliant men and women on the hill know exactly what is in this monstrosity after such analysis.
This bill is an assault on personal freedom and the Constitution. Should it pass in its current form the entire nation will be on a system very much like Medicare which despite only covering a small percentage of the country is estimated to be under funded by somewhere between 75 and 125 trillion dollars. That is roughly 10 times the current national debt, and that is only for the roughly 15 percent of people using it now.
Of course this bill will not force anyone out of private insurance, but it does force private insurers out of business- but you wouldn't expect someone with no experience running a business- like the president- to understand that.
What does that 75-125 trillion dollar outstanding liability we face already with medicare turn into when 320 million people are on a government plan? No one knows because the bill has to pass by Saturday so no one has time to realize how bad it really is. Wouldn't want to get those pesky citizens involved in the process.
