This week has some great DVD releases for you to purchase and enjoy with the family. Perhaps the biggest thrill is the movie Up, the latest film by Pixar, creators of Toy Story and Finding Nemo. Up tells the story of an elderly man, Carl, fulling his promise to his late wife, Ellie, to have a home at Paradise Falls in South America. The movie comes out tomorrow, November 10th, in a four disc Blue-Ray combo and a two disc DVD combo, both with a digital copy of the movie. It also comes out in a single disc, widescreen DVD format.
Also due out is The Ugly Truth, a film starring Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl. Heigl portrays a morning show producer whose show is about to be cancelled due to poor ratings. After a terrible date, she comes home to see Gerard Butler's character, host of "The Ugly Truth", criticize various aspects of the dating life. Butler is hired to help Heigl's show gain better ratings, causing tension between the two due to their different opinions on relationships. As expected, this causes some interesting and awkward situations that only a romantic comedy could produce. This will also be released in DVD and Blue-Ray format.
Other DVD and Blue-Ray releases include JAG: The Ninth Season (DVD), Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut (on DVD and Blue-Ray), and a four disc collector's edition of Monster's Inc. (Blue-Ray). For children and adults alike is a Sesame Street collection, 40 Years of Sunny Days, available on DVD as a tribute to the anniversary of one of America's most beloved shows. The shows debuted on November 10th, 1969.
With all these and more, November is a month to find that perfect Christmas gift for the movie lovers in your family.
