The Fall season is well on its way. Summer has flown by; vacations are long gone; the kids are back in school; and leaves are falling everywhere!  The earth has grown to maturity and it's harvest time. It won't be long before the planet retreats for a long winter’s nap. The beautiful autumn leaves on the trees in Pennsylvania are beginning to burst with colors of gold, red, orange, pink, yellow, and purple; and soon, they’ll lose all of their leaves and you’ll be able to see the squirrel’s nest way up in the trees; and I suppose the neighbors will also be able to see into the windows.  The apples are falling, pumpkins are swelling; and both are waiting to be picked. Pull out the gourds and Indian corn, it’s time to do some fall decorating.  It’s time to think about putting away the lawn furniture; and hopefully, the houseplants have already been brought indoors. In most areas, the first frost has already come and gone. The big fat crickets are trying to hibernate in the garage; the birds are beginning to migrate south; and the rain doesn’t feel so wonderful anymore as the air grows chillier. And of course, there’s no more running to the mailbox in bare feet. Get out your coat; it’s autumn, a time of great change.

The transition from winter to spring is a pleasant adjustment, and going from spring to summer is welcomed; but the change from summer to fall is tough.  Autumn methodically brings life to a temporary halt in order to prepare the earth for a long winter’s rest.  It can be difficult to adjust to the season of fall because change can be a shock to the system, just as it shocks the Earth. Seasons are a natural timetable that God gives to earth; as well as, in the lives of humans. As long as the world exists, there will be seasons. (Genesis 8:22) The Bible says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1–8).

On the planet, and in our lives, their will always be seasons.  The seasons on Earth consist of Spring, the season of new birth; Summer, the season of growing; Fall, the season of change; and Winter, the season of rest; and our lives mimic the seasons. Humans go through seasons of new birth, growing, change, and rest; and each season branches to one common denominator, growth. God has a plan for every person, and a time-line for each; so appreciate each season because God has perfect timing in everything. Each season has a reason; and they ultimately bring upon growth.

The secret to accepting change is to know and appreciate that God’s timing is perfect in everything. He has a plan for everyone’s life. Whether one is experiencing a season of sunshine, darkness, stormy weather, new beginnings, growth, change, or even rest, you can be confident that God is preparing growing you up for the next season. He has carefully orchestrated each of our lives so that we will continue to grow, change, and do the work we were born to do. (Colossians 3:10).
