The party starts tonight for George Lopez, who will try his luck as a late-night talk show host at 11 p.m. on TBS with guests Ellen DeGeneres, Eva Longoria Parker and Kobe Bryant.
The Latino host compared his place in the late-night pecking order to Costco:
There's been a lot of supermarkets but Costco took it to another level with bigger jars of mayonnaise and bigger chicken wings and all that stuff. This show is comedy and entertainment in bulk: Bigger and better."
Asked if he's worried about "Lopez Tonight" competing for guests, the comedian said:
I don't think 'The Tonight Show' is going after Menudo."
