The eighth and newest roster update is now available for Madden 10. A complete list of changes found in the update can be found here.
The update reflects several weeks of game results and league transactions. Some of the more notable changes include sharp rating increases for Miles Austin (Cowboys, 76 up to 80), Elvis Dumervil (Broncos, 83 up to 89), Cedric Benson (Bengals, 86 to 89) and Sidney Rice (Vikings, 77 up to 82). Moderate increases are in store for other notable players such as Aaron Rodgers (Packers, now at 90), Matt Schaub (Texans – 88) and Chad Ochocinco (Bengals – 92) amongst others. Several notable decreases include Terrell Owens (Bills) who is now down to 85 and JaMarcus Russell now at a lowly 67.
Probably the most interesting rating change came for Dante Wesley (Panthers) who saw his “hit power” increase in the recent update. Some may remember that several weeks ago Welsey earned a suspension and ignited a small brawl for this hit during Carolina’s game against Tampa Bay. The validity of a rating increase for annihilating (and severely injuring) a defenseless returner is certainly questionable, especially since it appears to be based on one play.
Patriots fans will be glad to see that most of the latest roster shuffling has been sorted out (Joey Galloway has been dropped) as well as a significant ratings boost for Brandon Merriweather who gained 6 points and now sits at a solid 88. Laurence Maroney also received a moderate bump of 3 points and has been made the starting halfback based on his success prior to the bye week.
Madden 10 is available now on all major platforms.
