Taming of the Star Runner

ICv2.com is reporting that Bluewater Productions has signed an agreement with bestselling young adult author S.E. Hinton. Bluewater will create comic book adaptions of some of her best-selling young adult titles. The first two adaptations will be Taming of the Star Runner in spring 2010, with The Puppy Sister scheduled for later in the year.

In addition, Hinton will create new properties to be developed specifically for Bluewater Productions. The names and targeted age-groups for those new properties will be released at a later date.

S.E. Hinton is, of course, one of the most successful children’s and young adult authors before the era of J.K. Rowling and Stephanie Meyer. She is most known for her portrayal of gang life in books like Rumble Fish and The Outsiders. Both books were adapted for film by Francis Ford Coppola, and The Outsiders starred such up-and-comers like Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez, Diane Lane, Rob Lowe, Ralph Macchio, and Patrick Swayze.

Bluewater Productions publishes a wide variety of genres, but has been making a name for itself in recent years by publishing a line of biographical one-shots featuring the likes of President Obama or Princess Diana.
