An entire family in Greeley was arrested early Monday following a 10-hour standoff that took place following a melee in which a woman says they beat her up, police said.
Though a reason for the alleged beating was not reported, police say the woman had an ongoing intimate relationship with a 24-year-old man in the family, and had lived at the home.
According to reports, the woman went to the family’s home and was first attacked by her lover, then by his mother, before his 18-year-old brother joined in.
The woman alleges the trio – later joined by the man’s father – punched her and pulled her hair, choked her and tried to use an electronic stunning device on her.
The woman was able to get away and called police.
Reports show that police went to the home, but the family refused to answer their door, resulting in a 10-hour standoff and marijuana use-related investigation.
According to reports, once police got inside the home, they spotted a marijuana plant and other paraphernalia, leading them to get a second warrant related to suspected drug use.
Jeez. It’s one thing when your significant other’s parents don't exactly welcome you into the family with open arms; it’s quite another when they come to the door with fists clenched and armed with shock devices.
