A Florida man has been arrested after police say he neglected his elderly mother so badly that her feet grew literally attached to a pair of slippers she apparently constantly wore.
According to reports, the 90-year-old woman was emaciated, her clothes were soaked with urine and her toenails had begun to grow into the shape of the feces-covered slippers’ toes.
The 68-year-old man reportedly told police that while the pair lived together, he didn’t have a good relationship with his mother and that he was her “illegitimate” son.
When will our society realize that elderly people are not to be thrown away, treated poorly or shelved somewhere?
Gah.
