Bennett, Colorado

A teenage girl, bleeding from a gunshot wound to her neck alerted neighbors to a massacre scene in Bennett on Thursday morning, Arapahoe County deputies said.

The 14-year-old girl, now hospitalized in serious condition, was one of at least four people shot in what police are calling an apparent murder-suicide. Killed were a man, woman and 3-year-old girl, reports said.

The woman and man were found dead outside a home on the 4300 block of East Arkansas Place, near a parked SUV – the 3-year-old was found deceased inside the vehicle, where an infant boy was found unharmed.

The infant boy has been hospitalized for observation, deputies told reporters.

Initial reports showed the girl is related to the three victims and investigators said the dead man is suspected of being the shooter.

I’m flipping sick of reading about murder-suicides.

If someone wants to end it all, (not that I condone such choices) then they should. Their choice, however, shouldn’t mean the end of anyone else’s life.

And if you really can’t see any way around murdering someone (I don’t understand how this option is ever likely) then at least have the cojones to stand up and take responsibility for it.

Don’t kill yourself to avoid spending the rest of your days in prison, living with the guilt of what you did.

Good Lord.

I hope that poor girl makes a speedy and full recovery, and that she can find some way to get past the horror she witnessed.
